So, here it is: a cuff down sock, 74 stitches cast on, a rib 1/1 cuff and top of the foot (for the stretch), Heel Flap (my favorite). I hope to get a size 11 Man. Fortunately, my Husband is the same size as my Step-Dad so he can (reluctantly though) try the sock on from time to time, for example when I start to freak out about how my sock looks...
Could you tell that I have added some extra deepness to the heel? I made the heel flap a quarter inch longer than I would usually make it, and therefore I picked up more stitches on each side of it, for the gusset. I want to make sure that the socks will fit their recipient comfortably - Comfort is also my motivation for ribbing 1/1 the top of the foot. Then, at some point, and after decreasing every other row like it is usually the right way to do, I had to decrease on every row because of the extra number of stitches; I didn't want the gusset to end passed the middle of the foot... That wouldn't be right. Right? Now, doesn't my sock look too weird? I am afraid one skein of yarn won't be enough to complete a pair of that kind of socks though...
Yarn: Lion Brand Magic Stripes from my stash - color Stonewashed Blue
Needles: 2 - 16" circulars #3US
Foot size: Man 11 US (43 France)
And... this came in the mail today. Just in time for me to have something new to enter the New Year! (French tradition - In fact, it is more about wearables)
Anyway. When I first saw them online, I just couldn't convince myself not to get myself a few of those delirious Car Magnets. They are going to look great on my car and/or my fridge! I haven't decided yet which would go where though...
Now, this is not considered Stash, is it?
