I ran the Portland Marathon Relay with my team this morning and "Lady Godiva One" made it to the finish line in 3:30:36 minutes gun time (3:28:47 net time) That places us 12th overall out of 55 participating teams, but 1st Female Team!
I was first to run and I made my leg (6 miles) in 47:55 minutes (8:00 min/mile pace) according to my Garmin and this is my best time ever on a such distance - my best 6.2 miles (10K race) was 54:03 minutes (8:42 min/mile)!
What an amazing experience team racing was! Very motivating too because each time I was struggling and thinking about slowing down I reminded myself of my team's goal (to finish in 3:20 or 3:30) and the thought of not letting my teammates down kept me going.
Passing the finish line all together was just... GRAND...
EXHILARATING... INCREDIBLE... TERRIFIC!!!
Oh, what a feeling!
