We didn't have any snowfall yet but it has been cold enough for streams to freeze.

Now, with the help of that $10 Gift certificate I won and BD's money,
we have new buddies at home. Meet Paddy, the Funky-Roller-Skater, and Cherry Beary, the Ballerina!

On Sunday morning, I volunteered for the PT 8K running race in Brunswick. It was really cold and while I was waiting to start my task at the finish line, I got the opportunity to take this photo that shows the first frost of the season.

I missed my long run with the "Ladies" but being cold out there gave me the excuse to go for a  15 minutes run before the race started.  That was actually not such a great idea because I had to stand at the finish line all sweaty and freezing even more than if I had not run.

On Saturday, a Convention. Looking for answers...

... and a comforting home made Apple Clafoutis (French Recipe).

On Sunday, a Family Fitness session on the beach.

TJ was riding his bike in the sand for the first time, and the rest of us were walking and jogging ahead or beside, because cycling in wet sand is not as easy as it looks and he needed a few pushes.

Little "Pinky" didn't want to ride her bike and chose to walk and jog with us.

Happy Columbus Day to those who celebrate!

Pumpkin Sale to the benefits of TJ's school's PTO.
It was fun to help a good cause and also to meet people from my community!

Circus was in town this weekend. I have never been a big fan but when it comes to please the family, you gotta do what you gotta do, eh?

I don't like shows that use animals, but acrobats were pretty good.

Personally, I got my suppa duppa blast the day after running the Marathon Relay. That was definitely one of the most amazing... thrilling... exciting... exhilarating experiences of my life, and I am comparing to skydiving here!

Saturday, I participated to my first bike ride ever, the "Maine Lighthouse Ride" to benefit the Eastern Trail Alliance, an organization dedicated to building a 60-mile off-road greenway from Kittery to South Portland, Maine.  The trail will be part of an even bigger dream - the East Coast Greenway connecting Key West, Florida with Calais, Maine.

I chose to do the 25 miles ride along the Spectacular Maine Coastline and to see 7 lighthouses on the way. The weather was perfect. After rain the day and night before, the sun was showing again.

Today, Sunday, was my weekly long run day and I did 14 miles in the rain in the morning; then we took the kids to the movies in the afternoon.

We saw "Fly Me To The Moon", a cute story and amazing 3D Animations.

I spent most of my weekend baking and cooking while Mr. Tricotine was fixing my computer. I made some Banana Bread and 50 Oatmeal Cookies for healthy school snacks. For the Cookies I doubled and followed the recipe that was on my Oatmeal package except for a little change; I substituted hearty Olive Oil to Margarine that contains unhealthy hydrogenated fats. Also, after pouring the dough in the first loaf pan I added a few dark chocolate chips to the second loaf.

Then, since I had a few spare vegetables (Broccolis, Carrots and Fresh Spinach) I made myself some homemade vegetable soup for the week. I like to store it in reused containers (Wheat Germ jar and Tomato Juice bottle on the photo) that I keep in the fridge or the freezer depending on the quantity I make.
