My Dublin Bay Socks are finished and even though they don't exactly look like what I had in mind when I cast on, I like them!
It was comforting to follow a pattern to the letter and to get what it was supposed to be...for a change! That proves that there are still Designers (with a big "D") out there!
My tiny US#1 bamboo double pointed needles did make it to the end but they worked hard because of my tight knitting and this is how they look now...

I wonder if they would take another pair of socks... I guess I'd better get myself an aluminium spare set, huh? Unless I can find a set of flexibles... My favorites! I bet flexible double pointed needles have been created especially for tight sock knitters!
Usually, with a skein of Magic Stripes sock yarn and US#2.5 needles - my favorites size of needles for socks - I have enough yarn left to make my toddler a matching pair of socks too but this time, I was lucky to have enough yarn to finish the second sock of my own pair! I guess more tiny stitches on the needles = more yarn, right? ... DUH!
It was a nervous reck until the end... You certainly understand that I couldn't get some rest until I actually knew if I was going to have enough to finish my pair, right? So... on and on and on, I ended up going to bed at 03:00am but I was finally in PEACE and I slept like a log.
