Last night, I was reading "At Knit's End - Meditations for Women who Knit too much" by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee- the Yarn Harlot - and she says that she doesn't mind to interrupt her knitting in the middle of a row...
I never really thought of it, but now that I do, I happen to ALWAYS finish the row I am working on before pausing my knitting (unless it is an emergency of course)!
For some reasons, It just doesn't feel right to stop right in the middle of a row... Is it? My Mom - who taught me to knit in my young years - always told me that it was wrong. She use to say - and I am sure she would still say so if she was asked now - that it would cause a lose spot where the project was put on hold.
But then, I am thinking, what about knitting in the round with circular needles? There are neither beginnings, nor ends of rows... Therefore, are you supposed to never pause until the project is completed?
I am curious to know how YOU, fellow Knitters, are doing it (?)
