Hubby was working this weekend, so today doesn't feel like Monday; it just feels like another day of a very loooong week...
I watched the Knitty Gritty marathon until late last night, and I have learned few new techniques, improved some others that I use to do wrong not so well, and added few more patterns to my already ridiculously long "Wanna-Do" List ...
Oh well, dreaming doesn't hurt, right?
As I was admiring the projects and the skills of the invited Designers, I was (humbly) making my square for Knit In (Warm Up America -- see my previous post here).
It is a 7 x 9" Seed Square (my favorite stitch). I have used Red Heart Super Saver Multicolor, color 0920 "Polo" (from my stash) and I wouldn't have imagined how great that yarn looked when it is Seed Stitched! Not so exuberantly stripy anymore... Mmmh... That gives me some ideas...
My knits this weekend:
Sugar'n Cream - Early American Ombre Needles US8 |
Peaches & Creme - Sea Mist Needles US8 |
-
The 4 corners Dishcloth, based on Elizabeth Zimmerman's Square Baby Blanket.
-
The Hexagon Dishcloth, based on Stephanie Pearl-McPhee - the Yarn Harlot's Circular Shawl (Knitting Rules -- Method 2, page 178). For this cloth, I have cast on 22 stitches with needles US8 and that gave me a 10 inches diameter piece. I think casting on 18 or 20 stitches should make an about 9 inches diameter cloth (the size I actually prefer).
-
I am finishing the cuff of DSS #2, and BTW I am done writing THE PATTERN.
Good News:
Oh, and I have received in the mail my Berroco Booklet and I am about to cast on Napoli!
Now, since I am on a Yarn Diet Destaching Program (I prefer calling it that way), I will be knitting it from some Acrylic from my stash.
According to gauges given on their websites, Red Heart Super Saver seems to be a little too thick and Caron Simply Soft not enough... I probably will have to change needles size to adjust.
To be continued...
HAPPY KNITTING EVERYONE!
