Today is Bastille Day, the French Independence Day.

HAPPY BASTILLE DAY to those who celebrate!
They arrived in the mail yesterday; four hanks of Lorna's Shepherd Sock - color Berry and Blackberry.
I am going to make myself some Purple socks, because this is the way I want to celebrate my 10th Anniversary - the official complete remission!
I also got a tea package from my Maman in France, and among other things there was a purple bag of actually green tea, and called Soft Cashmere!
Now, what better tea for a Knitter to sip, mmh? 
Because Firefighters didn't make me a happy face balloon, Mister Tricotine tried to bring a smile on my face tonight, surprising me with... this! 
Now, how could I not smile with a hank of my latest favorite sock yarn in my hand! 
The magic of good yarn must have operated, because I think I feel much better already! 
Today was supposed to be a fun day, a long time expected one; the day my son would visit his future first school for the first time! 
But fate decided otherwise. Driving to our apointment to meet with the school supervisor, we got caught in a car accident. Mister Tricotine and Tricotine Junior were not hurt, but Paramedics from the Fire Station insisted for Baby Tricotine and I to get checked in the Hospital.
We are fine; only going to be sore for few days, but it was so upsetting to see my little one hurt, and not to be able to help her... Look how tiny her Hospital bracelet is compared to mine! 
Paramedics were able to bring a smile on Baby Tricotine's face with this happy face balloon they kindly made for her out of a latex glove!
I am very grateful that - thanks to seat belts - no one was badly injured, but that scary experience was a true pain in the neck... litterally!

And now, featuring my fabulous clear clogs, my 22nd pair of socks (technically pair #21 because it was cast on before #22) is finally completed!
I think I like my new socks as much as I had hard time working on them... 
And boy oh boy, that bamboo fiber feels good on the foot! 
I like it so much that I couldn't help but order a few more skeins of it last night, in different colorways! Sock yarn does not count as stash, remember? 
I cannot wait to cast on another pair of socks with it!

Yarn: Regia Bamboo Red Spot Color 1059
Needles: 2 16" circular needles #2US
Now, I have a bit of yarn left and I am very tempted by making a pair of Bamboo socks for Baby Tricotine as well. I think I am going to adjust my own pattern - because I know it fits tiny footies right - to make a Sproutlet Seduction.

Happy Monday today is making it up a bit for Disappointing Sunday yesterday. Well not quite, but I will spare details here because we all have our own bugs... Let's only talk about everyday little things that make us smile, shall we?
I guess I didn't do too bad with home pre-shooling after all... HA!
Few afternoons per week, for a progressive introduction to socialization and a bit of independence.HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY MONDAY to all!
After a little struggling, my Seduction sock #1 is finally completed!
I did the original stitching, the one with the lacy effect and little twists, and I have to say that the sock looks much better (to me) when it is not streched, like it is on a sock blocker or even on my foot... I really like the squiggly lines between the gaps, but it is too bad that they don't show so well when the sock is worn...

Besides, and despite the fact that I have cast on 8 additional stitches, and made my heel a little deeper than instructed in the pattern, the design and the squiggly lines still stretch on the insteap of the sock; less than it did initially but still... 
On a positive note, Regia Bamboo Red Spot Color 1059 is a dream to work with, and I also like the tiny dabs of color that spice up the sock's design.
Now, making #1 was exhausting something! Let's just say that the pattern is far from being boring, and hope that Sister Sock Syndrome won't delay the cast on of Sock #2...
It would feel great now to take a break from that project and put my mind on something else for a while, but I have heard that the best prevention to SSS is to cast on sock #2 right after finishing sock #1, so...
I guess I HAVE to...
Right?

The Favorite Socks KAL... I just got myself that fabulous book, and I am really tempted by the idea of making Meida's Socks, Embossed Leaves Socks, Retro Rib Socks, Uptown Boot Socks and Go With The Flow Socks...
Now, would that be unreasonable?
I am so struggling with my Seduction Socks! A while ago, I had to undo what I had made because the fit was too tight on my foot. Then I started again, but got lazy and decided to give up on the lacy effect, by not making the gaps between the twists... Much easier to knit, but the result is ugly not as good looking as the original pattern...

I think I am going to stick with the original lacy stitching...
Colinette #1's sister sock is done. This was sock project #22.
Time to go back and finish Sock Project #21 now...
