Too good to be true...

Needless to say that when I got this letter from Creative Home Arts Club yesterday I was pretty excited.  Which crafter wouldn't be interested in testing craft products and keeping them afterward, huh?

Well, Mister Tricotine made a little search on the Almighty Internet, and certainly saved me some trouble and frustration - which most likely also spared him some long whining evenings...

He found that article revealing The Truth About This Exclusive Opportunity to Be a Product Tester (I quote), which is nothing but a very elaborated scam.

May this help some other naive trusty persons like me...

Gentleman Sock... Interrupted

As fearely suspected, it happened. I run out of yarn one inch before the beginning of the toe shaping of my Gentleman Sock #2... Bummer !

Although the yardage per skein is similar, the fact that I have substituted Trekking Pro-Natura to Trekking XXL must make a difference -- especially that I am making a Men's Medium size and deeper heels... 

Or perhaps my socks require more yarn because I am using size needles #2US instead of #1US as instructed in the pattern -- I tend to knit tight. 

Or maybe both...

Anyway.  Whatever the reason(s) is/are, there is no way I am going to ripp off my socks now.  Nope, certainly not!   So, the only other option - rather than outrageously finishing the sock with some unmatching remains from other projects - was to call Astrid to the rescue...  

Now, I am not sure I am going to get the same dye lot because I bought that yarn some time ago, but I guess it does not really matter since the toe part of the sock will be in the shoe anyway.  Besides, the socks will be staying in the family and Mister T. does not care if his socks are not identical twins.

Waiting for the yarn to come in the mail now...

First Homework

Today was Open House at my little one's Pre-School.  He was really excited to go but a little shy to be around the other kids.  We have never been apart before except for a few Sunday Schools at Church...  Going to school is going to be a big change for him but also for me...

Each kid had to do a Scavenger Hunt around the shcool, trying to find what was made of wood, what was yellow, etc... And then the most important moment of the day, TJ got to pick his very own cubby.

Then, he was given his first homework ever. It has to be turned back on Monday, first day of Pre-School, but he couldn't wait to get started -- I bet that urge won't last very long, right?   

On the theme "Who am I?" and in order to introduce himself to the other kids, he has to describe himself, and this is how he pictures his little person...

Of course, BT also wanted to do homework like her big brother, so I made a few copies of that body shape for her to color -- I helped with the head...  

It is going to be so difficult to explain her that she won't be going to school on Monday because she is too little; she so wants to go...

Gentleman Sock #2 in Progress

I am finishing the gusset of sock #2. To my surprise, the sister sock has knitted up much faster than Sock #1; maybe because I got the pattern well memorized by now...

At this point of my work, I have one concern though... 
Am I going to have enough yarn to finish?
