My first Half Marathon is three days away and although I was medically allowed to run again I know there is no way I could run 13.1 miles right now - I am only at the walk/run 2/2 stage for now...
Because their "no transfer registration" policy (no refunds either) Race Directors would neither let me give my slot to another runner, nor transfer my registration to next year... But they agreed on switching me to a Walker when I thought I could walk the distance.
I flirted with this idea for a while and it was really tempting, but hazardous because so soon after recovering from a foot fracture and not having trained for such an event... So realistically - and thank you to experienced (Blaine) and caring friends (Tika and Mary) and to my dear husband ♥ who all talked me into reason - I have decided to not participate after all.
Now, it doesn't mean that I cannot dream to the future, right? I know that I am far from being ready to run a Marathon just yet - that is a 2011 project - but I like to seak for inspiration here and there... So, here is a video of the Boston Marathon course in 8 minutes.
Pretty cool but still exhausting to just watch! LOL
